Google Fi Cell Phone Plans
Google Fi cell phone plans are an excellent choice for heavy data users.

Previously known as Project Fi, Google has rebranded its cell phone service and expanded compatibility for more phone types. Now called Google Fi, the service operates with a simple usage-based plan. You pay only for the data you use. Google Fi partners with Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, intelligently switching from one network to another depending on your location.

Google Fi offers several plans, starting with the basic “Flexible” plan, which offers a single line of basic service. With this plan, users get unlimited domestic talk and text, unlimited international texting, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and 24/7 support.

Google Fi is focused on simplified billing. You pay $20 per month for unlimited talk and texting, and a flat rate of $10 per GB of data used after 6GB of usage for the month which costs $60 you hit a level called “Bill Protection” and additional data usage is free of charge without paying over $80 total ($20 base + $60 data).

Google Fi family plans are just as simple as their individual plans. You can add up to five lines on one plan, with each extra line costing $15 (the first is still $20) for unlimited talk and texts. This is followed by the same data cost structure of $10 per GB, which is shared between those lines. That means family plans can save you at least $5 a month per additional line.
